Senior Lead Coach – Eelco Uri

Eelco is a familiar face for many around both the Auckland and New Zealand Water Polo communities. Eelco moved to New Zealand in 2007 and spent ten years with New Zealand Water polo in various capacities. He was CEO, Development Officer and High-Performance Director. He also organised many Pan Pacific Festivals and the 2016 Youth World Championships in Auckland. He also led the organisation of the 2018 FINA Inter-Continental World League, which was the first time the event had both genders in one location.

Eelco represented the Dutch team 256 times, including appearances at both the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Olympics. He also competed at the 1994 World Championships and Five European Championships. As a coach, Eelco has led many teams both domestically and internationally, including the New Zealand Senior Women at the World Cup in Christchurch (2010) and the World Championships in 2011. We are looking forward to having him on the Atlantis Team.
