U16 Lead Coach: Hamish MacDonald

Hamish joined Atlantis in 2018 and has found his stride quickly. He led the U18 Aqua side to the top 8 at Pan Pac’s and assisted the Tridents to silver, a feat which they repeated at Nationals whilst Aqua finished 5th.

He won his first National Title with Atlantis when he was in charge of the U16 tridents who captured gold at the 2018 National Championships. Although only 21, Hamish has started to build an experienced portfolio of coaching. He was the assistant coach to Angie when they won the NZWP National League together in 2016. After playing 120 premier games for Saint Kentigern, he has returned to lead their girl’s programme. Now in his fourth year, he has won a division two national title and led them back to the premier grade, along with more success in the junior grades. As a player, Hamish has won numerous national titles at an age group level and has multiple Pan Pacific medals too his name. He has been a member of numerous national training squads and also toured Australia with a New Zealand Development side.   

In 2019, Hamish will lead our U16 programme while continuing to assist the U18’s and Senior Women.
